@AussiePhil how did it go. I have thought of doing the same thing, as I want to double the number of strings to from 8 to 16 in 180deg mega tree.

It would be nice to see a table in 101 doco. On the costs of 12v vs 5v for the same number of leds. e.g. 16 x (100 Pixel String 12v Vs. 50 + 50 Pixel String 5v with power injections). e.g. Mega Tree would be cheaper using 5v if somehow you could do the power injections every 50 pixels to...
