I have ordered 18 AWG pixels from Ray and the gauge is definitely larger than what comes standard. I use 5 V pixels throughout and these have worked very well for me without any noticeable voltage drop for my runs.

Need a lot more info to be able to help. Pictures/diagrams and screenshots of set up info are essential. How are controllers connected? To a modem? A switch? Are you running the show from a Raspberry Pi or Beaglebone Black or what? Be as specific as possible.
