What are people using to create their props?
I would like to quickly make a star for the Mega tree that I have just finished.
I have the lights sitting around and would like to finish the tree off.
The Tree is 5m tall and 2.4m wide.
How big should I make the star? 1m wide?
Hey guys,
I am new to xlights and was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a sequence to download. I am happy to pay a small fee if they are good.
I don't feel that I have time to explore creating one this year. Maybe next year.
The tree is 5m tall and 2.4m wide.
Should I power the DigQuad from the Distro board or directly from the PS?
Don't think it matters really, it would just offer a double fuse for the controller, eh?
I have a DugQuad for my first megatree.
I need to have 8 PI. I have 3 coming direct from the controller and I want another 5 direct from the PS.
Question is, how should I hook it all up? There are not enough terminals on the PS.
If I was to add them together they would look like this. Plus...
For the PI line coming from the PS to the strand, can I use a larger diameter dual cable (+ve & -ve) and then branch them off to their respective locations (just to reduce the quantity of cabling) or should I run a separate line for each injection? I may need to buy some 18 AWG cable.
That makes perfect sense. Well explained. Never used Xlights, so that's good to know as it will save me a headache down the line.
I did want to add some more "strands" to it, but I couldn't find any W2811 100 pixels that were not out of stock. 20 it will be then....
Good pointers mate, thanks.
I did realize about the -ve for the PI. I just didn't draw it in. I have some Injection Tee's that have set aside for that.
I was just estimating the power demand from this web calculator, maybe I entered the data wrong...
Hey all,
First post, so be gentle... :) Great, content available here, thanks all for the input.
For my first project I decided to start small and build a 6m Mega tree. xD
I have 2200 pixels utilizing one Dig quad.
My main concern is the use of a second power supply. I realise that I need a...
